So you are already preparing for your CPC requirements but stuck with DTI and BIR thing? Worry no more as I will be guiding you in this post on how to get your DTI Certificate of Business Name Registration and BIR registration (under construction). Please note that ALL VEHICLE OWNERS are required to get DTI Certificate of Business Name Registration, even if you are not an Uber Partner.
- at least 3 business names for your proposed business (some examples are ABC Transport Services, X & Y Transport, 123 Transport Service, etc.)
- Gcash or BancNet account (otherwise you need to pay personally at the DTI Teller)
Simple Steps in Getting a DTI Certificate of Business Name Registration
Step 1: Go to http://www.bnrs.dti.gov.ph (Chrome is not a recommended browser). Click "New Application". You must agree to the Terms and Conditions.
Step 2: Select "Regional" for the business scope, and Region 7 for the region.
Step 3: Check the availability of your proposed business name. You'll know if one is taken already.
Step 4: Fill in the needed basic information.
Step 5: Select your preferred payment method. I prefer Gcash as it is very easy and convenient. You can also pay online via BancNet or pay in person at the DTI Teller. You can also use other's Gcash account.

Step 6: Select "Download" in the Method of receiving Business Name Document from DTI. Click Continue.
Step 7: Record (download and print) your Transaction Reference Number (TRN). You'll need this during payment. Click Close.
Step 8: Go to "Online Payment" located in the main menu. You must agree to the Terms and Conditions.
Step 9: Enter your TRN, then click Search.
Step 10: Click on the result to review the details.
Step 11: Select Gcash (or BancNet) as your payment type, then click Continue.
Step 12: A pop up window will appear. For GCash, enter your cell phone number, then click Continue. You must reply within 5 mins else your transaction will be aborted.
Step 13: After payment, go to "Download Certificate/Certification" located in the main menu. You must agree to the Terms and Conditions.
Step 14: Input your details, then click Next. You should be able to download a copy of your Certificate of Business Name Registration, which should look like this:
Very Important Reminder: You can only download a copy of your DTI Certification once, so make sure to save your copy.

Again, having DTI Certificate Of Business Name Registration only gives you a business name or trade name to use. All individuals, partnerships or corporations must secure a Certificate of Business Registration from BIR before starting any business operation.
