Here is a compilation of the most frequently asked questions by Uber Cebu riders.

Q: What Uber products will be offered in Cebu?

A: Only UberX will be offered in Cebu. UberX is one of many private car services that Uber has to offer. It’s Uber’s low cost option: It allows you to get from point A to point B without putting a hurt on your pocket.

Q: Up to where is Uber's coverage area in Cebu?

A: From Talisay City in the south to Consolacion in the north, including Mactan/Lapu Lapu City. The driver can refuse a passenger if the destination is outside of the coverage area. Although the system will still work, there is a small chance in getting a passenger back to the city.


Q: How much will be the rate?

A:  No official rate for Cebu has been published by Uber yet. For reference, here is Uber Manila's rate.
 
UPDATE (December 2, 2015): The per km rate for Cebu uberX will be Php6.90, while the per minute rate is Php3.00 (subject to change).


Q: How many passengers are allowed?

A: Up to 4 passengers only (UberX).

Q: Is cash payment available in Cebu?

A: Update (March 23, 2016): Uber activated its cash payment feature last March 23, 2016. Also, new riders can now sign up for an Uber account even if they don't have credit or debit card. Please check this article.

Q: How can I join Uber if I don't have a credit card?

A: Most ATM/debit cards work as well. Just make sure that you have at least 500 balance when you sign up or book a ride.

Q: Can I request to be picked up at the airport?

A: No. Uber is not yet accredited to pickup at the airport. However, dropoff is allowed.
