There will be limited vehicles on the road for a little while - but don't worry, Uber Cebu Team is working hard each day to get more cars on the road.
Here’s how to snatch yourself a safe, stylish, reliable ride with Uber:
- Register an account here.
- Download the Uber app on your smartphone via the App Store on iOs, Android, & BB phones.
- Select your pickup location in the Uber app and your private chauffeur will arrive within minutes.
- Uber is cashless and convenient. Once you arrive at your destination, your fare is automatically charged to your credit card (or debit card) on file and Uber will also e-mail you a receipt.
- Use promo code “ubercebu” when you sign up and get a FREE first ride up to ₱200.
UPDATE (December 1, 2015): Due to delayed release of Provisional Authority (PA) from LTFRB, Uber's soft launch will be postponed until further notice. Without the PA, Uber vehicles can not operate as it will be a colorum.

Minimum Car Requirements for Uber Cebu

So you are interested to join as Uber Cebu partner, but wondering if your current car/s will be accepted? Or you are thinking to buy a brand new unit but would like to confirm first if the make and model are ok?
Uber Cebu will be offering only UberX
Uber Cebu will be offering only UberX, the low-cost Uber that covers compact and sub-compact vehicles, mini-SUVs and AUVs. Now, what about if you have a mid-sized sedan, an SUV or a Crossover? Will they be accepted? The answer is YES. However, they are not the optimum car for UberX and your ROI will be longer as the rates will be for UberX. In the next few days I'll be posting an article about the optimum cars for Uber Cebu, so if you are a driver, watch out for that.
Here are the other requirements that you should be aware of:
- The minimum age requirement for a vehicle upon applying for TNVS status is that it must be at least 3 years old or newer.
- Any 4-door sedan (including hatchbacks), AUV, or SUV can be applied for. Two wheel vehicles, 2-door vehicles, pick-ups and vans with seating capacity of 10 or more are currently not accepted by LTFRB.
- There is no minimum engine displacement, so a 0.8L Hyundai Eon or Suzuki Alto is acceptable.
- Any color can be registered, as long as it is unmarked (no operator names, logos etc).
- Last but not the least, no visible body damage or broken A/C.

Uber Cebu will be launching next week
This was the exact message delivered to Uber Cebu partners today via SMS. Just three weeks ago, the first Information Seminar was conducted by Uber in Cebu. It attracted a couple of hundred aspiring partners in the first week. The offer was so exciting as they have a special incentive to those who completed the initial requirements by November 6, which was later on extended to November 13.UBER CEBU ANNOUNCEMENT: We will be launching as early as NEXT WEEK! If you haven't attended yet, or if you have questions on documents or the signup process, please feel free to attend today's info session from 1-3pm. 6/F 2Quad Bldg., Cebu Business Center.
Though the special incentive is gone, the driver referral incentive, which amounts to ₱2,000 per successful referral, was officially announced today. Please note that the referral reward will be earned after the referral completes his/her first 10 trips. So guys, sign up NOW using this link for you to qualify for the reward and be included in the next batch of submissions to LTFRB. You will not be allowed to take your first trip until you have your PA from LTFRB. The Uber product that will be launched in Cebu is UberX only. In Manila, riders can choose between the low cost UberX or the original, more expensive UberBlack. But riders don't need to worry, as SUVs and full-size sedans are also accepted by Uber Cebu. This means that you'll get a chance to ride a Toyota Fortuner at the price of a regular taxi! Uber is now in Cebu!
In the next couple of weeks, Uber Philippines will be officially launching their operation in the queen city of the south: CEBU. Cebu will be the second city for Uber to operate in the country, with Metro Manila being the first. The coverage area will be from Talisay City in the south, to Consolacion in the north, and of course, Lapu Lapu City.

If you don't have a credit card, most ATM cards or debit cards are also working. In fact, I successfully signed up using my Union Bank debit card.

5 Things To Do While Waiting for Uber's Grand Launch

Congratulations to all who received those messages through SMS from Uber Cebu. Finally, after a week-long preparation, your sacrifices paid off with the confirmation from Uber that your documents were complete and already ACCEPTED. So, in the meantime, sit back and relax while Uber is processing you Provisional Authority (PA) with LTFRB. Or if you are as excited as mine, read my tips below to make you more prepared when the battle begins.
1. Be familiar with your dashboard.
Are you a PARTNER-DRIVER or a PARTNER-OPERATOR? If you plan to hire driver/s, you should have a PARTNER-OPERATOR account. Otherwise, you will not be able to add drivers.
Do you know where to get your invite code? You should know as you will need it in spreading the word, while earning some incentives.
Lastly, don't mix up your email account password with your Uber account password. If they are not currently the same, I suggest you change it to be the same.
2. Start spreading the word.
What is your invite code? Start sharing it with your friends and family members as Uber is giving referral incentives. There are two ways to do this. One is by sharing your custom invite code. The other one is by sending your friends a referral link through their email addresses or phone numbers. You'll do this by going to the INVITES portion of your dashboard.
3. Create a RIDER account.
You got it. Not all the time you are a driver. There are times that you will wear the hat of a rider. So sign up NOW as a rider. If you use this link, you'll get ₱200 off your first ride. Note that you need a credit card for now. If you don't have, most debit cards work as well (my Unionbank debit card worked). Don't stop until you tried it.
4. Read/review the FAQ section of Uber Philippines website.
The FAQ section of Uber Philippines website is very informative. Find time to read it to have answers to your questions, or simply learn.
5. Don't forget to follow my blog.

4 Common Mistakes in PA Requirements Submission
Avoid the common mistakes in the application requirements most partners (including me) commit. Whether you already submitted them, or just starting to prepare, this post will hopefully help you.
Here are the four common mistakes observed in PA submissions:
If you have not submitted yet, or if you submitted but received notice of errors, please access the forms at t.uber.com/TNVSPAKit and then submit/re-submit at t.uber.com/tnvspasubmitcebu.
Once you done it right, you will receive an email and SMS from Uber that your application passed the initial review. You can now sit back and relax while Uber is processing with LTFRB your Provisional Authority.

- Letter of Engagement must be SIGNED.

Special signup incentive extended until November 13, 2015
The special P3000 partner sign up incentive has been extended until Friday, November 13, 2015.
In order to avail of this incentive, you must submit complete and correct documents to your dashboard (partners.uber.com) by 11:59PM of November 13. You need to prepare all REQUIRED documents below (in PDF format unless otherwise specified) before your application is accepted:

- Proof of ownership (OR/CR or Sales Invoice/Delivery Receipt if no OR/CR yet)
- Proof of insurance (Comprehensive or TPL)
- Photos of the vehicle (front, rear, backseat, dashboard) preferably in jpeg format

- Filled up TNVS Motion for PA (no need to be notarized)
